There’s something about a country wedding. Maybe it’s the stunning landscape, maybe it’s the relaxed attitude of the bride and groom or maybe it’s just the magic of a good old country wedding!
Matt and Penny’s country wedding in Tenterfield, Northern New South Wales, was definitely magical! Three hours from Brisbane, this small country town played host to one of the most magnificent weddings we have ever had the privilege of working on.
With such an amazing landscape to work with, Matt and Penny’s brief to us was all about creating an elegant and unique space to complement the exquisite surrounding Australian bush. We set to work on designing a customised space that would bring all these elements together and showcase the stunning yet laid back style of the couple.
From ceremony, to cocktail hour, reception and late into the night, every detail of our setup was carefully considered to ensure this wedding was everything Matt and Penny dreamed.
The setup for the outdoor ceremony was all about keeping it simple. Guests were treated to a ceremony in a quintessential Australian country setting, with only a minimal amount of setup and styling to accommodate the guests. Bentwood chairs and haystacks helped to form an aisle that led to a magnificent boulder, the backdrop for Matt and Penny’s nuptials.
The rustic pre-dinner cocktail area was strung with festoon lights in an open air setting with our wine barrels, picket fencing and natural timber flooring creating a perfect deck area for a relaxed, outdoor cocktail lounge.
Placing an emphasis on raw materials and textures, our clear marquee was set atop of our natural timber flooring with bespoke, handmade feasting tables (made exclusively by Events in Tents) and walnut bentwood chairs to seat the 240 guests. Our bud lighting was strung throughout the ceiling with exposed large bulbs punctuating the space and the stunning Australiana floral arrangements from Flowers by Julia Rose were the perfect way to bring the outside landscape, in.
Our favourite part of setting? The absolutely gorgeous dinner plates placed beautifully at each table setting. Every plate was hand-painted by Penny’s Mother, each with their own individual design - a stunning keepsake for every guest; a beautiful detail that was unforgettable.
And as night fell and the rain started falling, the party kicked on with uplit trees around the property, the warm fire burning and a whole lot of love filling the air. Congrats to this amazing couple, it was an absolute blast being a part of this unforgettable Tenterfield Wedding.
