This year, The Brisbane Writers Festival celebrated 55 years of bringing stimulating ideas, debate and discussion to Brisbane. At the first event in 1962 just six sessions were presented across one day. Fast forward 55 years and more than 150 events were held over 5 days, with over 20,000 literature lovers descending onto the State Library of Queensland and QAGOMA to hear from over 100 of their favourite authors.
Not ones to shy away from a culturally enriching festival, we were proud to be a part of this fantastic annual event for the third year in a row. Working with the crew from UPLIT, our event brief involved the design and construct of several creative event solutions, including the Top Shelf Bar and Cafe, Angel’s Palace on the QAGOMA lawn and additional outdoor requirements for the Word Play area of the Festival.
